Too School For Cool and Treated Like a Fool

This time I am doing a song suggested by Marz, Raise Your Glass by Pink. Raise Your Glass is the lead single of the album Greatest Hits....So Far. It was released in October of 2010, when it then raised to #1 on the US charts. I personally find Pink to be one of my personal favorite modern pop stars. I think this song is a very Pink-esque song. It has her fun loving attitude and just her sound.
Lyrics-wise, it is a good party anthem. That means the lyrics aren't really meaningful or anything, but that isn't the point. The point is to be fun. This song captures that. So the lyrics are fantastic, but they are easy to learn, which is characteristic of a party song. The only negative thing that I can really say about them is that the chorus is repeated a lot, but that happens in most modern songs.
The guitar and beat behind is good and makes you want to move. It is simple and easy to jump around and dance to. It fits the singing well. The singing in and of itself isn't auto-tuned so much to make her sound like a robot. Like most Pink songs, it is more raw sounding than other pop songs.
Over-all the song just is a wonderful pop-party anthem. Party anthems are a bit difficult to review, because they aren't really meant to be outstanding on any specific piece, but more just to dance and move around to. This one does it's job, and just sounds really cool.
EDIT: I yet again forgot a link. I gotta remember to do that. Well here it is. Link

Oh How She Rocks in Keds and Tube Socks

My first review is going to be one of my choice, though I thank the people who gave me suggestions which will be most likely used in later posts. It is Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus. Wheatus was formed in '95, and is generally classified as any of Indie Rock, Alternative Rock, or Pop Punk. Teenage Dirtbag was featured in the movie Loser.
Lyrics-wise the song is just telling the story of a unpopular boy who really likes a popular girl. Her boyfriend is classified in the line 'Her boyfriend's a dick, he brings a gun to school.' Eventually the girl comes to him and asks him to an Iron Maiden concert. The lyrics are a story telling sort, and the chorus isn't overdone. They aren't really anything amazing but they aren't bad.
The actual singing of this band in general is rather high pitched for a guy and the quality of it is subjective the listener. Some like it and some don't. I am in the former. I think it has a unique and good sound. If you know Wheatus at all you will immediately recognize who it is who plays it. The end part where he sings as the girl is a bit strange, but it still isn't exactly bad.
The instrument part of it is very simple but effective. It isn't taken from anyone else and sounds unique to the song. It is also simple as with the lyrics, but that is something that defines the genre of Pop Punk. It is nothing special but it sounds good.
The overall song is good in my opinion, and even though everything by itself is nothing special, all together it combines to make a very good song. It just has a good flow to it.
EDIT: I forgot the link so here it is.Link

So that was my first review. Leave in the comments below your opinions on my review, as well as the song. Also suggest future songs for me to review. G'bye now.

FIRST!

This would be my first post. Hullo to all who are reading this. This will be a blog dedicated to reviewing music. All kinds of music (excluding religious to avoid debates over irrelevant topics) will be reviewed. I enjoy all types, so it will be judged off of actual quality and not just whether or not I dislike the genre. The main categories will be lyrics, singing, music/beat behind, and whether or not it just straight up sounds good. The videos will also sometimes be added in it as well. I will always link to a video on Youtube, official if possible, if not whatever I can find.
I hope you enjoy it, I know I will. The current template is temporary, until I can fiddle with it some more to be how I want it.
